Mixed Media on Wood Panel | 60" x 60" | SOLD | Contact to commission similar
Inspired by a trip to Great Sequoia National Park, Megan created this abstract painting on a wooden panel. The patterns she found in the trees, along with the drama of the burned out parts of the trunks of the sequoias provided inspiration for this sculptural painting.
It includes copper leaf, gold leaf, metallic acrylic paints, and bas relief texture, all of which reflect light differently as it changes throughout the day. When the light hits the metallic metal leaf areas it flashes off beautifully; when the room darkens the blue areas sink down into the dramatic depth of the black areas.
This painting, like all of Megan’s contemporary abstract paintings, wraps around the edge of the deep cradled panel in a gallery wrap style, and does not require framing.
This painting has sold, please contact Megan if you'd like to discuss commissioning a similar abstract painting in this contemporary sculptural mixed media style.
