Murals by Megan McKeithan
With murals and art projects for clients in the Atlanta area and more than 60 cities around the United States, Megan McKeithan has painted a lot of murals since 1996. A few are shown here on her mural portfolio page, check with her to learn more about other works or commission a mural on canvas or on your wall. She also paints contemporary abstract paintings for sale and as commission, see her fine art here.
This portfolio of work features some of her favorite contemporary murals, including Living Color (large large blossoms)and Auspicious Peacocks, as well as landscapes like Mountain View and Give it Time, each of which contain vistas and detalis holding special meaning to her clients.
Megan also paints trompe l'oeil (fool the eye) murals to create the illusion that you might walk into the picture, like Attente! Paris Opera House, the Art Deco Movie Palace home theater, and a Wine Cellar Barrel Room mural.
In addition, she creates entire rooms and environments inspired by all sorts of wonderful artists, illustrators, and movies. For example, The Persistance of Dali mural incorporates imagery inspired by Salvador Dali, and even a 3D melting clock. James Cameron's Avatar inspired a fantasy mural and exhibit she created with collaborators for an industry event. And, she's created room murals inspired by Disney movies like Frozen, Moana, and Winnie the Pooh, not to mention DreamWorks Shrek and Madagascar. She's even painted an entire room Peter Rabbit mural inspired by Beatrix Potter.
Nature, animals, Africa, underwater, skies, golf courses - all of these and more are inspirations for so many murals Megan has painted over the years, look through these and ask her if you'd like to see more.
Megan has developed the art of painting murals on canvas in the studio for installation any where. This means she can plan the piece with her clients, then work on it in the studio without interrupting the client's home or commercial space, or prepare murals in advance while buildings are under construction. Progress is shared through photo and video meetings, then the final day, the canvas mural is installed and voila! Instant mural.
And, even better, her clients can take their custom mural with them when they move and reinstall it in a new location. Blue Ridge Mountains and Give it Time murals on this page have both been moved to new locations since they were originally painted.
Megan’s clients commission her to create just the right artwork for their homes or commercial locations.
Working closely with her clients and interior designers, architects, and even some sculptor friends, Megan works either on location or in the studio to create just the right effect for the space and for her clients.
