Megan created this abstract painting inspired by a walk in the wetlands near her home in Atlanta. Watching the light meander through the wetlands on an afternoon stroll evokes stillness hiding just inside the edges of the busy world.
Even as cars speed by, rowers pull their oars to the beat of a screaming cocksman, and runners zip around her, the geese just honk as they fly over, the herons silently watch for their next meal, and the light wafts through the misty atmosphere in and amongst the trees. Plants and trees grow up and through the water day in and day out, no matter what's going on around them; this gives her a sense of nature's subtle and ongoing magic. Megan captures as much of this as she can in this series of contemporary artworks.
Megan used metallic acrylic paint, gold leaf, resin, and bas relief texture. Gallery wrapped around the edges, this cradled abstract painting does not require framing. The metallic paints and gold leaf shine inside of the resin,
The light, patterns, textures, and shapes Megan observes in her walks through the landscape inspire her to create fine art pieces like this – nature's inspiration for contemporary abstract painting.
